Arrival of the Tooth (Teething) Fairy

Jackson is 6 days away from his 9 month birthday and he is finally cutting his first tooth! I was beginning to wonder if he was ever going to get teeth, but I have heard from several sources including my doctor that the later their teeth arrive the better, so I guess it is good that he is a late bloomer. I first felt his little tooth on Friday when he shoved my hand in his mouth to chew on my finger. It is not all the way in, it has just broken through his gums. My only clue that he was teething has been his awfully bad poopy diapers...until yesterday. He was so fussy all day long and last night he started to run a low grade fever. I felt so terrible for him because I could tell he was so uncomfortable. He has been sleeping so great and last night he had alot of trouble going down. His cries were different, like his little mouth was hurting him and he cried out "Mama" for the first time. It broke my heart, but a part of me was so happy to know that he realizes now that if he calls for his mommy I will be there to comfort him. He ended up sleeping for the rest of the night...I guess we will see what the rest of the week brings!!
